Corporate Worship Director

The primary responsibility of this position is to lead a team of volunteers who will lead the congregation in worship while emphasizing what is Biblically true and Gospel-centered in the lyrics we sing while stirring our affection, awe, and adoration of God. Through music, lead us in awe-filled praise to God for all He is and all He has done.   

Status: Part-Time (30 hours/week) 

  • Reports to: Lead Pastor 

  • Leads: Worship Planners, AV team, and Praise Team members 

  • Compensation: Based on experience. Include benefits such as insurance and retirement.

Qualifications

  • A mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ  

  • In agreement with the EFCA Statement of Faith. 

  • An enthusiastic member of Westchester, or willing to become one.  

  • Experience with leading and developing people. 

  • Skilled in leading worship vocally and instrumentally (guitar and/or keyboard preferred). 

  • Experience leading blended worship in a church setting; comfortable working with multigenerational teams. 

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. 

  • Committed to personally growing in both personal walk with Christ and professional skill. A humble awareness of growth areas. 

  • Accountable: able to accept responsibility, submit to authority, and a teachable heart

Youth Pastor

We are seeking an individual who will work cooperatively with parents, equip a leadership team, and empower middle school and high school students to relationally make disciples who make disciples. Through solid biblical teaching, leadership training, and opportunities to serve in the church and community, we seek to provide an environment for the students to be with each other and the Lord set apart from what the world offers. Over the last several years our church has fostered a healthy relationship with the public schools across the street that has provided open doors and ministry opportunities. We are looking for someone who can continue to build these relationships while sharing the gospel.

Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week) 

  • Reports to: Lead Pastor

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the High School and Middle School ministries with the goal of making disciples of Jesus who will make disciples of Jesus.

2. Prepare, teach, and equip others to teach solid Biblical lessons for all youth ministry programs

3. Equip and engage youth leaders and parents alike to be disciple-makers.

4. Relationally walk with the students and parents of Westchester helping them experience and extend God’s love.

5. Communicating clearly and in a timely fashion.

6. Manage your time (40+ hours a week) well to best equip others and multiply yourself, including time outside of β€œoffice hours” such as going to students sporting events or meeting students or leaders for meals.

7. Oversee with integrity the youth ministry budget.

8. Occasionally share the preaching responsibility.

9. Work in unity with the pastoral staff to model a cohesive team.

10. Coordinate and lead youth trips, service opportunities, fundraising events, and mission trips.

11. Create ministry goals and plan for attaining them.

12. Build on the relationship the church has with the schools across the street and parachurch ministries in hopes of reaching students in the name of Jesus.

13. Create opportunities for the youth to be involved in the Church body and vice versa.

14. Participate in other duties as needed.  

Qualifications

1. A lifestyle that clearly points to a calling to ministry, specifically mentoring youth and leading them to a deeper relationship with Christ.

2. Bachelor's degree required (ministry, theology, leadership, or organizational leadership preferred); Master's degree preferred.

3. A teachable and humble heart.

4. A proven history of caring for and mentoring others while leading them to faith in Christ.

5. A history of: Faithfully walking with the Lord in all aspects of life. (1 Timothy 3:1-7), Equipping others to do the work of the ministry, i.e. identifying, recruiting, developing and involving a wide range of lay people in a variety of maturing opportunities. (Ephesians 4:11-12), Integrating evangelism and disciple-making together (Luke 24:47, Mt 28:18-20), Having a good reputation in and out of the church, Possessing communication skills and the ability to teach God’s Word (1 Timothy 4:2)

6. A personality that is relational, flexible and positive.

7. Loves and follows Christ and is able to model this love to others.

8. Able to connect with and disciple youth of all backgrounds and abilities.

9. A leader who is able to develop leaders (both youth and adult).

10. Able to recognize and recruit adult leaders to join the Youth Ministry Team.

11. Must agree with the EFCA Statement of Faith.

12. Ability to lead youth group in musical worship is a plus.
